Driving Directions to Storywalk

The Parkway East Inbound will be closed on Saturday, September 8. Please consult your local paper or check the PennDOT website for alternate routes.

From Downtown:
Get onto the Parkway East (376) going toward Monroeville. Get off at Exit 5 (Squirrel Hill/Homestead). Follow the signs to Squirrel Hill, which will put you in the left-hand lane and instruct you to turn left. This will put you onto Forward Ave. Get into the right lane and go to the first light at the intersection of Forward and Murray (near Poli’s Restaurant). Go through this intersection; stay on Forward Ave., which bears slightly to the right. DO NOT MAKE THE SHARP RIGHT. When at the intersection of Murray and Forward Avenues, you will see the Karate School clearly marked. Follow Forward Ave. up the hill, until you reach the light at Beechwood Boulevard. Turn left on Beechwood. Entrance to Storywalk at Frick Park will be on your right at the next stop sign.

From North Hills:
Get onto Interstate 79 to 279 to 579. This will feed you onto the Parkway East (376) by following the signs to Monroeville. From this point, the directions are the same as those listed above, coming from Downtown.

From South Hills:
Get onto the Parkway West (279) and once through the Fort Pitt Tunnels, follow the signs to Monroeville on Interstate 376. From this point, the directions are the same as those listed above, coming from Downtown.

East End of the City:
Get onto Beechwood Blvd., going toward Squirrel Hill. Cross Forbes Ave., stay on Beechwood, which turns to the left, then will go uphill. You will pass the Frick Environmental Center on your left. About ½ mile up, you will come to the traffic light at Phillips Street. At the next stop sign, the entrance to Storywalk at Frick Park will be on your left.

Eastern Suburbs (Monroeville, Penn Hills, Wilkinsburg, etc.):
Get onto the Parkway East (376) headed toward downtown. Get into the right lane as you approach the Squirrel Hill tunnel. Get off the Parkway at the first exit after the Squirrel Hill Tunnel—this will be Exit 5 (Squirrel Hill/Homestead). After making the horseshoe turn follow the directions listed above from Downtown.

McKeesport, Homestead, etc.:
Get onto the Homestead High Level Bridge. After crossing the bridge, go up Brown’s Hill Road until you get to Beechwood Blvd. At this intersection, make a right onto Beechwood. Follow Beechwood for about 1 mile. The entrance to Storywalk at Frick Park will be on your right at Nicholson.
